I just had to do this, I mean how often in ones life does this happen. Okay okay I know my kids will probably have this feature like my parents generation had the “smoking section”. Alaska Air supplys a wifi connection in flight with broadband speeds.
Currently I am on my way to Fairbanks, Alaska to do a server install and then Thursday I fly down to Anchorage to install another server. Right now I am leaving Chicago to go to Anchorage and then from Anchorage I will catch a flight to Fairbanks. This flight right now is 6 hours 3 minutes long.
I just had to make this post, this is just way to cool. Thinking about hooking up skype and see if I can make some phone calls! No cell phones allowed but they never said a thing about VoIP! Well here comes the inflight meal and my rum and coke! Time to get this party started.
My co-worker sitting next to me is playing World of Warcraft right now.
Talk to you all when I land.

You get to go to all the cool places!
Yeah I was hoping to have the same experience on a flight I took recently, but didn’t have such luck.
I feel using Skype or some other PC communication method like a webcam should be blocked/disabled on flights. I couldn’t imagine sitting next to some @$$hole while they’re chatting away with a buddy just because they have an Internet connection. The bottom line is we’re all in each other’s comfort zone, and the least one could do is not try to annoy everyone around them. Chatting during a flight is #2 behind talking during a movie @ the theater; you don’t do it. When you go to the movies you expect to pay to watch a movie on the big screen without interruptions, and purchasing a plane ticket should come with similar unwritten standards.
I like the new theme by the way. It’s very green!
